Austin Bush llegó por primera vez a Tailandia en 1999 para estudiar thai en un programa organizado por la Universidad de Chiang Mai. Tentado por la vida en la ciudad, el trabajo y la comida picante, con el tiempo se trasladó a Bangkok, donde se ha quedado desde entonces. Actualmente trabaja como escritor y fotógrafo. Ha escrito muchos libros, así como para revistas y páginas web, y ha colaborado en más de 20 títulos de Lonely Planet, como Bangkok, The Food Book, Food Lover’s Guide to the World, Laos, Malasia, Myanmar (Birmania), Tailandia y The World’s Best Street Food.
