After graduating from college in Chicago, Sara Benson jumped on a plane to California with just one suitcase, and 100 US dollars in her pocket. She then hopped across the Pacific to Japan, eventually splitting the difference by living on Maui, then the Big Island of Hawaii and O'ahu, as well as trekking all over Kaua'i, Molokai and Lana'i. Sara is an avid hiker, backpacker and outdoor enthusiast who has worked and volunteered for the National Park Service. The author of more than 50 travel and nonfiction books, including Top Trails Maui, Sara has also contributed to Lonely Planet's Hawaii guide. Lisa Dunford first landed on O'ahu in 1994 when her best friend moved to the Island. She was immediately entranced by the history, the culture - and the quilting - and has been returning as often as possible ever since. Though she's tried her hand at appliqué, and her hips at hula, she's mastered neither. What she has figured out is that among her favorite pastimes is pretending to live on the Windward Coast, hiking the hikes and strolling the sand. Lisa has been contributing to Lonely Planet titles for more than 10 years.Présentation de l'éditeur :
