Naomi Lewis is a distinguished writer, critic, poet and an authority on children's literature in the UK. She is a particular expert on the writing of Hans Christian Andersen and has translated much of his work. She has written introductory pieces to numerous editions of children's classics - and in translation has given new life to familiar texts from such sources as the Arabian Nights and the Brothers Grimm. She has received the British Eleanor Farjeon Award for notable services to children's literature and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature. Naomi Lewis lives in London. Yvonne Gilbert studied at Newcastle College and Liverpool College of Art, and graduated with a diploma in art and design. She worked as a lecturer for five years before becoming a professional illustrator in 1978. Yvonne has won international acclaim for her expressive artwork and has exhibited in galleries all over the world. She lives in Newcastle, England with her partner Danny, her son Thomas and their pets.

Upon discovering they have been turned into swans, she sets off on a difficult journey, enduring many hardships in the quest to return her brothers to their human form.
