JAMES MEEK is a prize-winning novelist and reporter. He is the author of three acclaimednovels, The People’s Act of Love, Drivetime and MacFarlane Boils the Sea, and two shortstory collections, Last Orders and The Museum of Doubt. Shortly after 9/11 he was sent toreport on the war in Afghanistan by The Guardian newspaper of London and followedthe campaign to the liberation of Kabul and beyond. In 2004 he was named ForeignCorrespondent and Amnesty Journalist of the Year for his reporting from Iraq andabout Guantánamo Bay. James Meek lives in London.
