Savannah Grey isn't at all what I was expecting, but I loved it anyway. It's a perfect blend of mystery, horror and suspense, and even has a bit of romance thrown in too. It's wonderfully written, with a well-executed story that twists and turns like a winding road... To say this book is unusual is an understatement, but that's part of its charm and appeal.At times lyrical and haunting, Savannah Grey is by far my favourite offering from Cliff McNish. Savannah Grey is good, solid writing, with characters that sizzle and baddies that make you pray for a hero to come and save the day... for someone like Savannah, no matter how odd her own freakish powers are. It's a case of better the devil you know. If you're keen to try something different, if you've grown tired of the standard fare of the supernatural YA novels out there, Savannah Grey is your antidote. Well worth the read. This is a highly original take on a good versus evil horror story, with a touch of romance. The heroine of the story, Savannah, is a brave and intelligent girl with a mind of her own, but the creepy and brilliantly drawn Horror and Nyktomorph are the monstrous stars of this book. (WRITE AWAY)

It's a difficult time for fifteen-year-old Savannah Grey - she's settled into her latest foster placement, but her body is acting strangely.
