Punches have come a long way from the office hole punch! The range of these tiny die cutters (and some not so tiny) is hugely diverse these days, but what to do with them all? Here are some ideas to get those creative juices flowing. One of the best things about this book is that it gives you ideas for most types of punches: the type that punch out a single image, border punches, the ones that punch out a range of shapes to make up into a flower (called tumble punches), corner punches and more. Also, the various styles they come in, such as thumb punches, the type that look like pliers and others - you can learn a lot about what is out there to buy just by reading the first few pages, which I found useful. What I liked even better was that after you have splashed out on a few, you don t always want to spend more money on other kits, and you don t need to with this book. It contains templates! Make a box, make another like a handbag, recycle an old house paint tin, make a most professional-looking notebook, or how about a realistic wallet to contain a gift of money? I was blown away by these beautiful and useful templates, and know what I can put my smaller gifts in now to make them look more interesting - and put my punches through their paces. There are cards, of course, and ATCs to bring the papercrafting trend up to date; all that is missing are scrapbook pages; but with a book this impressive and this inspiring, you ought to be able to come up with some of your own. Biographie de l'auteur :

Michelle Powell studied design and display at Gloucestershire College of Arts and Technology before going on to train as a teacher at Bath College of Higher Education. She majored in printing and papermaking and graduated with a degree in teaching art. Previously editor of Practical Crafts and Scrapbook Magic magazines, Michelle is now a full time craft project designer and author. Michelle is currently building her own house with her partner Christian.
