If you don't want to stock up on all of these, you'll probably find you have equivalents, but some are quite unique and the Wizard, with its two hair lengths, makes short work of grasses, reflections and foliage while the Fan Gogh is handy for clouds and the Half Rigger makes detail work much easier than its full length cousin.

Terry now demonstrates a variety of techniques for painting trees, reflections, snow and more. He also looks at ways to create the effect of distance, introduce life in the form of birds, animals and figures and to handle texture mediums and glazing.

The book concludes with a series of six step-by-step demonstrations covering winter and summer landscapes and a coastal scene as well as flowers, buildings and even a Venetian setting.

Terry Harrison grew up in Norfolk. His early art education was basic and he never dreamed that he would become an artist. At fifteen, Terry moved to Hampshire and was inspired by a brilliant art teacher. He took O and A levels in art, then won a place at Farnham Art School at the age of sixteen. He became a graphic artist, but continued to paint in his spare time. In 1984 Terry gave up his job to paint full time. He demonstrates to artists' groups and teaches on painting holidays. He has also developed a range of his own brushes and paints. He is the author of many best selling books on painting with acrylics and watercolours.
