"Assessing Your Needs" encourages the reader to focus on their own needs to determine their priorities in terms of making the most of their space.
"Solutions by Area" looks at a range of different spaces from balconies to basements, rooftops to courtyards, and highlights particular considerations of each as well as illustrating inspiring design ideas always focusing on the practical. For example, do you want to make the most of your view or do you need to screen off an eyesore?
"Design Details" focuses on elements such as walls, flooring, lighting, and furniture.
Throughout feature boxes and text bring in design advice, planting suggestions, and clarity on what is achievable through DIY and what needs a professional, plus include low-maintenance and drought-friendly ideas.
Andy Sturgeon is a Chelsea gold-medal winner and has been included in House and Garden magazine's exclusive list of top 50 designers in Britain. He currently lives in Brighton.
