Social Bridge with Serious Fun is a comprehensive reference handbook for players of all standards wishing to improve their game that also takes the game a step or two further. Author (and highly experienced bridge player) Douglas Bernard, believes that playing bridge improves general life skills, offering a perfect opportunity for enjoyable social interaction. On the practical side the book provides a detailed guide to bidding strategies, openings, bespoke bids, meeting the contract and table etiquette. It also includes a chapter with 101 practical exercises designed to make the reader think and develop their own game. Each exercise has a corresponding commentary from Bernard, both to assist if players get stuck. And to show that there are many more than one interpretation of how to play through a hand opening bid to contract.
