Biographie de l'auteur :
Sir James Matthew Barrie, was a Scottish author and dramatist, best remembered today as the creator of Peter Pan. The child of a family of small-town weavers, he was educated in Scotland. He moved to London, where he developed a career as a novelist and playwright. There he met the Llewelyn Davies boys who inspired him in writing about a baby boy who has magical adventures in Kensington Gardens (included in The Little White Bird), then to write Peter Pan, or The Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up, a "fairy play" about this ageless boy and an ordinary girl named Wendy who have adventures in the fantasy setting of Neverland. This play quickly overshadowed his previous work and although he continued to write successfully, it became his best-known work.

Ella Hickson's plays include Eight which debuted at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where it received a Fringe First award and was nominated for an Evening Standard Award. She has also written Precious Little Talent, Hot Mess, Boys and The Authorised Kate Bane all of which were highly commended by critics and audience alike. All of these previous plays are published by NHB.
Revue de presse :
More than matches the success of Matilda ... The reworking of the story is masterful. There is a gleeful use of anachronism and plenty of nods to other classics of children's literature but it is the emotional punch of the show that really sets it apart... it works. Brilliantly... there is something particularly special going on here. I laughed, I gasped, I cried... It has the potential to enthral audiences for many years to come...Five Stars. --whatsonstage.com

Ella Hickson's cherishable new version... a warm, sensitive and humorous reboot... Hickson has come up with an amusing amalgam of colloquial and traditional language, setting the piece firmly in its original period while making it fluidly accessible to modern children... Delightful...Five Stars. --Evening Standard

Ella Hickson's feminist reworking is clever and gripping... all done with a comic lightness of touch... A gripping account of a ripping yarn -and anyone who says otherwise should be made to walk the plank. --Telegraph
