Well illustrated survey of the design, crafting and use of swords from their origins some 4000 years ago to the present day, with some emphasis on European, Japanese and Islamic weapons. Nine authorities contribute to the book, with a useful bibliography and list of major collections at the rear. Dustwrapper has one small edge split to rear edge, some light creasing to edges but is clean and sound otherwise. Minor mark to leading edge of front endpaper else contents clean and tight.
