Biographie de l'auteur :
Darby Costello studied psychology, philosophy and theology at university in America in the mid 1960s. After some travel, she returned to the USA to study astrology in Boston, first with Francis Sarkoian and Louis Acker and then with Isabel Hickey. In 1971 she went to South Africa for a brief visit and stayed twelve years. During that time she worked with the Museum of Man and Science, in Johannesburg, recording the art and practices of the samgomas, the diviner/healers of Southern Africa. At the same time she began doing charts for people, gradually developing a wide clientele over the years. In 1983 she came to London. In the first few years she developed her practice and began giving workshops and seminars to various groups, while deepening her own knowledge of astrology’s cultural history. In 1988 she joined the Centre for Psychological Astrology, where she taught and supervised students. Darby he wrote her first book, Astrology, for Dorling Kindersley’s “Pocket” series, with Lindsay Radermacher. She then wrote three books of seminar collections for the CPA Press: The Astrological Moon, Water and Fire, and Earth and Air. She was one of four contributors to The Mars Quartet, published by the CPA Press in 2001. Darby teaches and lectures throughout Europe and in other parts of the world. She is a teacher for the webinar schools MISPA and Astrology University, and is a visiting tutor for The London School of Astrology and the Faculty of Astrological Studies. In 2013 she received the Charles Harvey Award for Exceptional Service to Astrology.
Présentation de l'éditeur :
Throughout her astrological career, Darby Costello has been watching the progressed Moon as it moves through the signs and the houses of the birth chart. She shares her observations here in two edited seminar transcriptions - one exploring the Moon in its phase relationship to the natal Sun and the other considering the progressed Moon, by sign and house, as it describes the unfolding of our emotional life and the awakening of our souls. In addition, Darby traces the progressed Moon cycle as it interweaves with the Saturn cycle, marking moments where crisis and change become gateways to new dimensions of experience. These gateways bring past and future together, providing openings to the points of intersection between time and eternity that dwell in each of us. In Darby’s words, "The natal Moon describes the physical gateway through which each of us must enter if we are to have a life on this planet. To spend any time here, as far as we know, you have to enter through a woman's body. And that woman's body will contain traces of every event that has happened since the very beginning . . . All of the past will be contained in that body . . . everything, going back to the birth of the universe."
