A seductive collection of over 320 hotels, châteaux, auberges and other places – beautiful, unusual and great value – all selected and inspected in the best Sawday tradition: they are here because we like them. At inns, or restaurants with rooms, food takes priority and le terroir – seasonal, fresh and local food – is de rigueur. In the châteaux, intimate dinners are hosted around a communal table. Alastair Sawday Publishing has earned a reputation for selecting original places that exude character and warmth and for describing them vividly in fresh and honest write-ups. Biographie de l'auteur
Alastair has built a team of talented editors who are as committed as he is to the search for authenticity and personality in places to stay. They are also driving the world’s first carbon-neutral publishing company; the search for a reduced ecological footprint is a serious one. In 2005/2006, Alastair Sawday Publishing won an award from Business Commitment to the Environment, a Green Apple Award and The Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the Sustainable Development category. Susan Herrick Luraschi also edits our Paris Hotels guide. She has lived in the centre of Paris for 10 years (and in France for about 30) and is passionate about her adoptive country, its buildings, people, food and wine.
