Biographie de l'auteur :
Scot Darroch Donald has two major passions in life –
wildlife and travel. After gaining a diploma in wildlife
illustration and photography, in Wales in 1986, Darroch
returned to Scotland to take up the position of assistant
manager at the country’s only purpose-built wildlife
rehabilitation centre in Fife. This unusual work took him to
many far-flung places, including Saudi Arabia during the Gulf
War eco-disaster in 1991 and eventually to New Zealand
where he emigrated in 1992. There he acted as an oiled
wildlife consultant to the government before bureaucracy
and disillusionment forced him to explore other avenues. In
1996 he published his first book Creatures, an account of his wildlife encounters illustrated with his own photographs and artwork. Now Darroch has expanded his work to include both travel and nature. As well as being the author of Footprint New Zealand he is also the co-author of Footprint Australia, author of the Sydney Pocket Guide and Footprint East Coast Australia (Sydney to Cairns).
