Ros Wynne-Jones has worked in conflict zones around the world and is the Daily Mirror's Senior Feature Writer. She has worked on the Independent, the Daily Express and Sunday Mirror and won numerous awards, including the One World Media Award for National Journalist of the Year in 2000 and 2005 for her coverage of Sudan, Cosmopolitan Media Woman of the Year 1999, Runner up Amnesty International Print Journalist of the Year 2000, Runner up National Press Awards High Cudlippe Award 2005. The idea for her first novel, Something is Going to Fall Like Rain, came after she witnessed a massacre in 1999 in East Timor (unnoticed by the rest of the world) and from hundreds of interviews with Dinka tribes people and their extraordinary stories.
