Synopsis
Six papers by leading researchers highlight a few selected areas that have undergone significant development. Among the topics discussed are the use of high-flux X-rays from synchrotron sources to enhance classic fiber diffraction techniques on polynucleotides, the rejection of "side-by-side alternatives" to the Watson-Crick model of DNA using X-ray diffraction, and a review of the radically distinct left-hand Z-DNA structural polymorph in relation to studies of the solution behavior of Z-DNA.
