Osteoarthritis (OA) is debilitating because it affects every aspect of one's daily life. In addition to the pain, stiffness and lack of mobility associated with OA, one may also have trouble performing everyday activities. Osteoarthritis can also damage muscles and ligaments, making it difficult to climb stairs. Total knee replacement surgery represents one of the most impressive orthopaedic surgical advances of the twentieth century, the essential role rehabilitation plays in both pre and post-operative stages cannot be underestimated. The aim of surgery is to resurface the damaged area of the knee.It is very important to realise the significant impact that pre-operative conditions have on post-operative outcomes. For this reason, it is essential that the patient maintain normal levels of activity and complete therapeutic exercise to effectively prepare the muscles and joint for the operation.Patients with good compliance,with early mobilization and with strengthening exercises showed good to excellent results.So a combination of expert surgeon and determined patient total knee replacement is an ideal deal for a patient with painful knees.

Myself Dr. Anshul Dahuja who has done his MBBS and MS Orthopedics fromGovernment Medical College Patiala. Specifically trained in trauma andjoint replacement. Assisted more than 100 joint replacements and have akeen interest in joint replacement surgeries.Currently working inRajindra Hospital Patiala.
