Synopsis
La citoyenneté active est un aspect important de l'éducation mondiale, aidant les élèves à développer la compréhension qu'ils peuvent faire une différence dans le monde, tout en encourageant les élèves à développer l'empathie, la confiance en soi et la pensée morale. Si la citoyenneté active peut aider les élèves à se préparer à l'avenir, elle se produit rarement dans toute sa mesure dans les écoles. Cette étude visait à découvrir les perceptions de la citoyenneté active initiée par les élèves, du point de vue des élèves et des enseignants de deux écoles primaires australiennes. L'étude a également recherché les perceptions des enseignants et du personnel scolaire de la pertinence de la citoyenneté active initiée par les élèves, obtenant une indication de l'espace que les enseignants pensent être dans le programme pour les opportunités de citoyenneté active dans la classe primaire supérieure. Les résultats de cette étude ont révélé que les étudiants et les enseignants percevaient des avantages significatifs des étudiants participant à des opportunités de citoyenneté active. Les avantages perçus l'emportaient sur les aspects négatifs et un impact positif a été noté sur la santé mentale, la maturité et le rendement des élèves, entre autres avantages.

The findings from this study revealed that students and teachers alike perceived significant benefits from students taking part in active citizenship opportunities.
