Smart Energy Distribution Management System: Design and Implementation of SEDM-System for Utility Source and Photovoltaic Power System using FPGA and ZigBee - Couverture souple

To meet the increasing demands of electrical energy, new thermal power generation units are required to be installed. Steam works as prime mover source in these plants. The water is heated, vaporized and then it spins the turbine to drive electrical generators. This arrangement increases the cost of electricity. It is also not an Eco-Friendly arrangement as it emits carbon dioxide. The cost effective solution for energy generation is the use of integrated power of utility source and renewable energy resources. Smart Energy Distribution Management System for this integrated arrangement avoids the blackout which is caused by the conventional load shedding. Renewable energy resources are difficult to interconnect with main electrical utility as the resources are needed to be managed first. Energy management is the subject of vital importance and great complexity. It comprises of resources selections at reduced cost and losses in distribution areas. This book is suited for students, researchers and electrical power field engineers who need in depth understanding of SMART GRIDS (Intelligent Energy Management).

Engr.Yousaf H.Khattak is working as Lecturer at Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology Islamabad,Pakistan.He received M.S Electrical Engineering Degree from University of Engineering and Technology Taxila,Pakistan.His research interest includes Energy and Power Generation, Renewable Energy Systems, Smart Grid and Chip Designing.
