Licht, luftig und klar dänische Einfamilienhäuser setzen für diese Bauaufgabe Maßstäbe Im Zentrum der dänischen Moderne stand der Mensch. Handwerkliche Traditionen und ein hoher Qualitätsanspruch prägten Design wie Architektur. Aus Holz und Backsteinen erbaut, mit praktischen, informellen Grundrissen, hell und durch große Glasflächen zur Natur geöffnet, erfüllen die besten dieser Häuser heute noch ihre Aufgabe. Das Kompendium stellt ausgewählte Gebäude detailliert vor, darunter Ikonen wie das Haus Utzon von Jørn Utzon, Arne Jacobsens Siesby Haus oder das Bøgh Andersen Haus von Jørgen Bo und Vilhelm Wohlert. Die Bauten werden durch eine Vielzahl neuer, vierfarbiger Fotografien dokumentiert, die jeweilige Entwurfs- und Baugeschichte diskutiert. Biografien der Architekten beschließen den Band.
