Biographie de l'auteur :

Sante D'Orazio studied painting and fine arts at Brooklyn College before beginning his photography career as assistant to Philip Pearlstein. During those same years, he studied photography with Lou Bernstein, a member of The New York Photo League. He began his professional career in 1981 with Italian Vogue and later at Andy Warhol's Interview and was soon working for the world's leading fashion magazines. In 1994 he won Grand Prize at the International Festival of Fashion Photography for his photos of Jaye Davidson, Axel Rose and the Rolling Stones. Since then his work has been exhibited around the world, including one-man shows in New York, Los Angeles, Bologna, Berlin, Cologne, Warsaw Munich, and Tokyo. He has published three books: A Private View (1998) with foreword by Francesco Clemente, Sante D'Orazio Photographs (2000), and Pamela Anderson: American Icon (2005) with text Glenn O'Brien, Jeff Koons and Richard Prince. In addition to his distinctive fashion work, D'Oraz has photographed a veritable who's who of actors and musicians, from A (Christina Aguilera) to Z (Catherine Zeta-Jones).
