About the Illustrator: Aya Shiroi A celebrated Illustrator and Animator Aya's was born in Tokyo in 1968 and later graduated from Tokyo's University of the arts. Her animation was selected for the CINAMA International Animation Festival in Holland and was awarded first prize at the BACA-JA Japanese animation festival in 1996. Aya's work regularly appears on popular children's shows on national television (NHK) and she creates animation for TV commercials as well as teaching art at several universities including Tokyo's University of the arts. With a versatile array of styles and mediums Aya has illustrated many best selling books in Japan as well as popular animated shorts, her passion is touching people through art.
