Triumph of the Will is a book that was made into a far more famous movie by the same name, the only difference being the word “Der”. The title of the book is Der Triumph des Willens. The title of the movie is Triumph des Willens without the “Der”. Both the book and the movie deal with the same subject: Rallies by Nazi party officials in support of their leader Der Führer Adolf Hitler. However, the movie deals specifically with the rally in Nuremberg held September 5-10, 1934. The book by the same name consists primarily of photographs from similar but earlier rallies held in other cities around Germany such as in Munich and Potsdam.
Biographie de l'auteur :
Heinrich Hoffmann (1885-1957) was a photographer was Hitler's official photographer. He was never implicated in any war crimes. To the contrary, he and his son, Heinrich Hoffmann, Jr., assisted the prosecutors in the Nuremberg War Crimes Trials by providing photographs that were used in the trials. Leni Riefenstahl, who produced the movie by the same name, also assisted the Nuremberg prosecutors in the same way, by identifying some of the people in her movies. Leni Riefenstahl lived to be 101 years old. She was born 22 August 1902 and died 8 September 2003.
