Technogym is a manufacturer of fitness equipment based in Cesena, Italy. It was founded in 1983 by Nerio Alessandriand now it is a world leader in the wellness and fitness fields. Industrial designer Nerio Alessandri wanted to create Technogym when he was 22 and decided to combine his design skills with his passion for sport, and began building exercise equipment in the garage of his home. In 1985 Technogym launched its first complete strength training line, and in 1986 it presented Unica, the first, hi-tech design, home trainer. Then, in 1990, the company added its first cardiovascular training line. In 1992 Technogym defined its brand position with the tagline “The Wellness Companyâ€.
