FAIA, Partner Buzz Yudell's passion for architecture grew out of a synthesis of artistic and social concerns. Buzz has led project design on a broad array of community and civic projects. Throughout his career, Buzz has found teaching, writing, and community service to be critical in the evolution of both the theoretical and cultural role of architecture in shaping and celebrating place and community. He has taught at Yale, University of California, Los Angeles, University of Texas, Austin, and was honored to hold the distinguished Howard Friedman Chair of Architecture at University of California, Berkeley. In 2006 Buzz and John's leadership was recognized when the firm received the National AIA Firm Award, the highest honour that can be bestowed to an American architecture firm. In 2007 Buzz Yudell and John Ruble received the 2007 American Institute of Architects Los Angeles Gold Medal Award.

Michael J. Crosbie, Ph.D., AIA, is Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Architecture at the University of Hartford. He is the editor-in-chief of Faith & Form: The Interfaith Journal on Religion, Art, and Architecture. The author of more than 15 books and hundreds of articles on architecture, design, and practice, Dr. Crosbie is a frequent contributor to international print and online publications. He is also a registered architect.

FAIA, Partner, John Ruble, began his career as architect and planner in the Peace Corps, Tunisia, where a profound experience of culture, climate, and place provided lasting influences on his work. At the University of California, Los Angeles, he studied and associated with Charles Moore. In 1977, John, Charles and Buzz Yudell formed Moore Ruble Yudell. Since cofounding Moore Ruble Yudell, John Ruble has collaborated with his partners on a broad spectrum of residential, academic, cultural and urban design work. As Partner-in-Charge, he has helped realize some of the firm's best.

The Future of Place is divided into four sections. The first showcases private residential projects, showing how they respond uniquely to the surrounding context, environment and inhabitant's needs. The second section focuses on campus work, how it is evolving to fit the contemporary student's needs, and the requirements of the urban context. The third section address civic structures from embassies to parking structures and how an effective design integrates the buildings highly specialized programming. Lastly, housing and master planning are showcased to depict humane and effective iterations of a high density program.
