I got this book through Pre order from the publisher. Fantastic book, written in a simple manner, yet short and to the point. All youngsters must read this, a good inspirational book and helps inculcate discipline and leadership qualities in teenagers Once you start, you wont put tit down until you finish. Took jut three days to complete, apart from spending 14 hours at office. you just can't put it down. So sad to know the bureaucracy in Indian Sports. One of the best book i have read. Milkha Singh's Biography is very Inspiring. Every Sportsmen and youngster should read this book. Government should try to include Mr. Milkhaji's story in childrens syllabus and start promoting sports in the schools. While going through the book i felt that, Milkha singh is not only great Athlete but very Charming personality and wonderful Human being. Reading about his struggle from Childhood till his Youth was very heart touching. Running is synonymous with the name Milkha Singh in India. After witnessing most of his family being killed in the violence that followed the India-Pakistan Partition, he lived with his sister. A short while in a refugee camp in Purana Quila followed by some time at a resettlement colony in Shadara, Delhi, led to Milkha realizing he was confused by life. Disillusioned by life, he considered becoming a dacoit but applied for the Indian Army under his brother s persuasion. Four attempts later, he got in. It was during his posting at Secundrabad that he was introduced to athletics, and discovered his life s true calling. A gold medal at the commonwealth games, and several Olympic games later, Milkha Singh was the stuff of legend.
