Deepika Mahalakshmi is a highly motivated self-taught artist and freelancer based in Chennai. She deeply enjoys painting and loves to experiment the different art forms. The bright hues and intricate designs of the Indian folk art inspired her to work on the Madhubani art form. Her passion and interests coupled with imagination made her imbibe madhubani art in various contemporary forms like Egyptian art, calligraphy, doodles. This book portrays the very beginning of her endeavours to spread the beauty of the Madhubani art form and improve its outreach among the art newbies and veterans alike.
