De jonge ontwerper Piet Hein Eek heeft zijn naam gevestigd in de internationale ontwerpwereld, in het bijzonder in zijn eigen land, Nederland. Tijdens en na zijn opleiding aan de academie industri vormgeving in Eindhoven (Design Academy) heeft hij de meest uiteenlopende activiteiten ontplooid. Van meubilair, verlichting en accessoires tot het ontwerpen en inrichten van interieurs en gebouwen. Hij onderscheidt zich van zijn tijdgenoten door zijn unieke werkplaats in Geldrop, waar een vakbekwaam team zich inzet om zijn ontwerpen te fabriceren.
