Author Om Pradhan was nine years old when news of the birth of Prince Jigme Singye Wangchuck reached his village Neoly in south- eastern Bhutan. Their destiny brought them together for the rest of their lives, in ups and downs. The Author, who has served for over a three decade with the royal government in his various capacities as Lyonpo (Minister), ambassador and deputy minister, tells about how the nation was born and its fight for survival with rare insights into the south, the east and external relationships. The book also has a store of information on some of the treaties, proclamations and submissions, that were never been published before. The Roar of the Thunder Dragon is a book on the events that have shaped the rights of a nation to exist as a sovereign entity.
