JoAnna Kang admits she had to pluck up courage to make the cross-country move from Portland to New York. She finally confronted NYC's cramped living and long workdays in exchange for relishing a 24-hour glutton's paradise, where diverse creativity is awakened. She has written for Portland Monthly Magazine and Edible Manhattan, and when not hard at work, she enjoys recreating delicious recipes from Elizabeth David cookbooks, fogging up a glass case of smoked fish and caviar in her local deli, or browsing the shops and art shows on her doorstep in the Lower East Side.
