Subject: Translation from English/Þýðingar úr ensku. Add.Entry: Einar H. Kvaran 1859-1938. TRANSLATOR'S BIO: the translator, Kvaran, resided in Canada. He came to Canada in the 1880s, where he edited the pivotal Icelandic-Canadian newspaper, Logberg. He took a leading role in Icelandic-Canadian community and political affairs. in 1891 he was selected as President of the Icelandic Liberal Association of Manitoba (see Kristjanson). He returned to Iceland about 1895, after a ten year residency in Canada during which he was a prolific writer, editor, and public figure (Kristjanson, page 332).
