An association copy, Wilson signed the book to his mentor, Christian Gauss, modern languages professor at Princeton. The book has suffered a bit of fire damage; there is a tanning of the endpapers; a leaking damp stain that creates a shadow in the margins of the pages. All pages are clearly readable and tightly bound. The boards are rubbed lightly; there is a 1 inch chew area on front board. A special book that has seen a few troubles.
