Sold by subscription only, this little set contains many of the worlds great poems. Powder blue paper over boards with white paper spines. the spines have 4 raised bands with red and black lettering. 3 volumes have dust jackets. Index volume was issued in 1914. A charming set. Description du livre Maine USA: Printed by Thomas B Mosher and Published by him at 45 Exchange Street Portland - 1915, 1895. First edition. A rare set of 20 matching volumes plus the Index volume. The Index covers all 20 volumes of the prose and poetry published 1 volume per year from 1895 through to 1914, and sold by subscription only. Each work in the Bibleot had been published by Mosher in monthly magazines previously, but not together in book format. All books are measure approximately 6.25" x 4.75" x 1.25" . 19 volumes have the original dustwrappers, however, some have been strengthened along the hinges and show some loss to the top & tail of the spines. The bindings are all very clean. Matching light blue paper covered boards, ivory paper spines with 4 raised bands with red and black printed title. Edges lightly rubbed and soiled. Page edges are untrimmed and rough-cut. All volumes bound with blue outer covers with title (in red & balck) and red fleur de lys to rear cover. The title is repeated on regular white paper. Clean English text throughout Volume 1 has the book plate laid down to the verso of the front board: "Ex Libris Harry Wellington Wack" [designed by Amy Sacker ]. The Bibelot: A Reprint of Poetry and Prose for Book Lovers, chosen in part from scarce editions and sources not generally known. A COMPLETE SET OF 21 VOLUMES 1-20 + Index. Smaller Hardcover bound books. Near Fine (9 of 10) / in Very Good+ dustjackets (8 of 10). / in Very Good- slipcases (6 of 10) on average. Several volumes (7, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21) have _uncut_ pages - the pages have never been opened or read. Several still have the cardboard cover that slips into the slipcase to fully protect the dj spine. The DustJackets are now protected inside archival plastic protector sleeves. Most of the dj's have some acid browning from the cardboard slipcases & covers as usual. This set is in the best condition we've ever heard tell of, or seen. Some specific volumes have some minor damage: 16 - scratch/tear to dj spine, 21 - tiny hole to dj spine, and the slipcase is broken, 14 - half split to one top edge of the slipcase. All the other slipcases have wear to the corners but are still firm. Cream paper spines with light blue paper covered boards & dustjackets, 4 raised bands, printed paper spine labels & slipcase labels, outer & lower page edges untrimmed. We have included extensive photos of a volume so you can see a sample of the low end of the condition, most volumes have less browning to the dj.
