With 37 folding chromolithographic facsimile plates of the papyrus scrolls to vol. I. Full parallel transcription and translation of text to vol. II. In publisher's red cloth with gilt titles to spines and blind titles and decoration to upper boards. Lightly browned and spotted throughout; spines and board edges heavily sunned to a light tan colour. Wear to spine heads. Good overall. First published in 1895 by the British Museum and Longmans, the papyrus having been obtained by the museum in 1888. The papyrus of Ani was seen along with several other important versions of the Egyptian Book of the Dead in the British Museum's excellent special exhibition of 2010/11, but is not currently on display.
