1863. [The Census of Ireland for the year 1861 - showing the Area, Population, and Number of Houses, by Townlands and Electoral Divisions - County and City of Limerick] A comprehensive breakdown of population, housing, land and land valuations in all the townlands in the baronies of Clanwilliam, Connello Lower, Connello Upper, Coonagh, Coshlea, Coshma, Glenquin, Kenry, Kilmallock, Owneybeg, Pubblebrien, Shanid and Smallcounty as well as the various Poor Law divisions. Included also are the figures for the City of Limerick, with figures for merchant seamen and those in public institutions. The report also has comparisons with population and housing from ten and twenty years prior, in 1841 and 1851. The Irish Census' though the years provide a townland by townland interpretation of changing Ireland in the Nineteenth Century, and provide sobering statistics on the state of the country at the time.
