With the dust jacket. Price-clipped jacket, spine toned, label removed, minor dampstaining, otherwise a very good copy. Front cover design repeated on title page. First edition, first impression, printed "in an edition of approximately 1500 copies" (Morrow & Lafourcade). Ownership inscription of J. S. Shilliday on front pastedown, possibly Sergeant J. S. Shilliday of the 38th Australian Infantry Battalion, awarded the DCM at Passchendaele in October 1917; also inscribed on the front free endpaper: "Wishing you many happy returns of 19/ 3(?)/ 44, from the 'Office Girls'".
