A propos de cet article

369 pages, 8 plates, 1 folding map, cloth, frayed dust jacket otherwise very good. From the DJ: "FROM THE DANUBE TO THE YALU is General Clark's personal story of his seven years of almost constant struggle with the Communists on the battlefield and at the conference table, a struggle which began when he first came face to face with Soviet duplicity as U. S. High Commissioner for Austria in 1945. Though still on active duty when his book CALCULATED RISK was published, he was outspokenly critical of the Allied decision which kept our armies out of the Balkans, thus virtually inviting Soviet aggression. How subsequent history has justified is fears is in large part the subject of his new book. Now retired from the Army, and writing as a private citizen, Mark Clark corrects some widespread misconceptions about the Korean War and makes a blunt appraisal of the results, political and military, of our action there.".
