Historical fiction first published in 1866 in German. Written by a missionary stationed at old San Jose Mission near San Antonio during the years 1859-1864. Includes a biographical sketch of the author by the translator Alois Braun. The grey cloth-covered boards are illustrated on front with a mission scene. Dustjacket is pink and illustrated with the same scene in blue. Near Fine/Fair. Clean,tight, no wear or owner name. Dustjacket is worn on edges and corners and faded on spine.
