Description du livre Seeley Jackson and Halliday London, 1875. First Edition. Original blue boards, gilt and black to spine and upper board. B/w engravings by Landseer all present. Boards scuffed and rubbed with puncture and small tear to spine with fraying. Gilt illustration of dog to upper board marked. 0.5cm portions missing to head and tail of spine. Large previous owner inscriptions to end pastedown and front free end paper. End papers browned and upper hinge visible. Illustration to pp212 has a closed tear which someone has unskilfully repaired to the rear with sellotape. Pages are browned with age with the occasional foxing and grubby mark.
