3rd edition. CONDITION: Brown spotting on endpapers. The main body of text is bright, clean and unmarked with no inscriptions and free from foxing. The second free blank endpaper has been removed. The front endpapers have split but the binding remains tight with all pages securely bound in. The rear endpapers have begun to split. Bound in ribbon marker with some loss at the end. The decorative leather cover with gilt and blind embossed patterning and banded spine has a little wear at corners and rubbing along the edges of the spine. ILLUSTRATIONS: Illustrated half title page. 23 Engravings in Steel including the tissue protected b/w frontispiece. (The tissue guard has browned) and a tissue protected map 'Travels of our Lord' . All these full page illustrations have tissue guards which have some light brown spotting. The engravings are by W Hughes, A Willmore, C Cousen, J Cousen, E Brandard, J C Bentley. 24 WOODCUTS by Branston in text. PAGES, with bright gilt edges: Preliminary section + 237.
