Synopsis : Explore the lives and careers of some of todays most popular and cherished childrens authors. Sidebars and direct quotes showcase the influences, talents, and creativity that helped each of them rise to the top of bestsellers lists.

About the Author: Molly Kolpin studied English at Gustavus Adolphus College and now writes full-time. Growing up, Molly was a horse-crazy girl who collected model horses and read every horse book she could find. She recently traveled to the heart of horse country for a visit to Churchill Downs – the site where the Kentucky Derby is held each year. Molly lives in Madison, Wisconsin.

Kelli L. Hicks is a teacher, mom, sports fan, and an author. She wrote her first real story in third grade about a trip to the moon and has been writing ever since. She likes writing nonfiction because she is a fan of facts, real people, and true events. When she isn't writing, she can be found at the soccer field coaching her daughter's team or watching her son try to put the ball into the back of the net. Kelli and her family spend much of their time outside enjoying the Florida sunshine.

Abby Colich is a writer and editor who has been working in the book publishing industry for more than a decade. She loves learning interesting facts about all the animals she doodles and draws. The most amazing animal she ever saw was a coyote walking down the sidewalk in her Chicago neighborhood.

Michael Byers was born and raised in Cambridge, Ontario Canada. He began his drawing career way back in grade one when he'd copy the dinosaur and wrestling drawings that a classmate was doing. He went through school, six years of working odd jobs, then at 25 back to art school at Sheridan Institute of Technology in Oakville, Ontario. There he received a Bachelor of Applied Arts Degree in Illustration. Fast forward to today and Michael is living in beautiful Guelph, Ontario with his girlfriend and our two cats.
