A propos de ce titre

Synopsis :

The Golden Glove first baseman takes baseball fans onto the field and into the clubhouse to capture all the drama and excitement of the New York Mets' 1985 season

From Library Journal:

Do you know what is meant by "a buck and change," a "big fly," or a "cunnythumber"? Do you ever wonder how the players feel about the "wave" executed by fans throughout the game? The answer to these and many other questions you probably never thought of can be found in the outspoken Mets first-baseman's candid, well-written anecdotal record of the 1985 season. The year was a tough one personally for Hernandez, who experienced a batting slump, a divorce, and the uncertainty of testifying in the cocaine investigation, but he was still a vital factor in the Mets' second-place finish. Mention of drug use in baseball is kept to a minimum. As to his own use of cocaine, he admits it was "a bad, bad mistake" but only a "flirtation." This is a cut above the run-of-the-mill sports book, one of the best of the new season. Jo DeLapo, Queens Borough P.L., N.Y.
