The author was the leading Unitarian Minister among Icelandic Canadians during his career. Book sets out his views on a variety of issues. He includes a section in which he comments on the great Canadian poet Stephan G. Stephansson (pp. 363-370); then, on pages 26-35 he includes the text of his sermon on peace delivered on Canada's Remembrance Day; a section on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Unitarian Church in Canada and the U. S.; on p. 330-346 he writes ofn the significance of Thanksgiving Day. Neither Remembrance Day nor Thanksgiving are recognized in Iceland. Also, see pp 379-388 for the author's eulogy honouring Eyolfur Olson, an Icelandic Canadian pioneer who was among the first wave of settlers in New Iceland.
