Description :

First Ed, so stated. Near Fine in Near Fine DJ: Both book and DJ show only minute indications of use. Book shows a crease at the lower corner of the front free end paper, which also bears the former owner's unicorn book plate; thin line of sunning to tan cloth along the bottom edge; binding shows the slightest lean, quite common in books of this size, weight, and shape, but remains perfectly secure; text clean. DJ shows some faint indentations at the front panel and very mild rubbing; unclipped; mylar-protected. Overall, very close to 'As New'. NOT a Remainder, Book-Club, or Ex-Library. Large Oblong 4to. 208pp., illustrated with 170 black-and-white plates. Tan cloth over boards. Compiled by Thomas Moulin and Donald DeNevi. Project Designed by Linda Witwer Bonnett. Hardback with DJ. Moulin presents the finest of homes and gardens on the peninsula, photographed between 1910 - 1930, includes El Cerrito, 1919 California Street, Uplands, 2200 Broadway, Villa Montalvo, St. Fancis Hotel, The Pines and Filoli. The classic presentation of the mansions of the San Franscisco Peninsula. The houses are simply spectacular and the vintage images seep off the page. The text is well researched and the book is easy to navigate. If you have any interest in beautiful mansions, or the Bay Area, or just have an appreciation for lovely architecture books, then you will be thrilled with this book. N° de réf. du libraire 37868
