A propos de cet article

Translated from the French by Mervyn Savill. Xxviii, 384, [1] pages, 12 plates, cloth, DJ, very good. From the dust jacket: "The first book to trace the complete history of the organization that was the central pivot of the Nazi state. " "For the writing of this thoroughly documented account of the most efficient and most terrifying instrument of the Nazi system, Jacques Delarue - a member of the Direction de la Surete Nationale in Paris - is exceptionally well suited. A few days after the invasion of North Africa in November 1942 Delarue enlisted in the Resistance while remaining officially in the Surete. His secret activities were discovered, and he was arrested and imprisoned at Limoges, where he remained for eight terrible months. Then, after the war, he was put in charge of the liquidation of the records of the Occupation. He saw and interrogated personally many of the chiefs and principal agents of the Gestapo; gained access to much hitherto unpublished material. " EDG_134 ; 384 pages. N° de réf. du libraire 22872
