A propos de cet article

Language: English . Brand New Book. The second set in the Great Events from History II (GEFHII) series (inaugurated by GEFHII: Science and Technology Series , 1991), the current volumes follow the format of the science and technology set, and, in addition, contain a geographical index to articles. The five volumes of Human Rights address 462 topics in the history of human rights, both instances of human rights denial and human rights advances. The articles are arranged chronologically by date of event, starting in 1900 with the Boxer Rebellion and ending in 1991 with market reforms in the restructured republics of the former Soviet Union. A broad range of 27 human rights categories is addressed, with the articles running somewhat longer (2,500 words) than in the original Great Events set, allowing more in-depth coverage of events that have years of background and areas of long-range significance. The scholars and academicians who wrote the articles are identified both at the end of each article and in the front matter to volume 1. Five indexes at the end of volume 5 provide maximum flexibility in retrieving information. Annotation copyright Book News, Inc. Portland, Or. N° de réf. du libraire AAN9780893566432
