A propos de cet article

These fabulous early issues of this still essential, and pleasurable to boot, journal are particularly scarce – as Beckett scholars hold on to them, they don’t come onto the market. Issue No. 1 has Beckett’s Ghost Trio, Ruby Cohn’s "Beckett’s German Godot", James Knowlson’s "The evolution of Krapp’s Last Tape 1958–1975", and wonderful reviews by Katharine Worth, Rosemary Pountney, etc. No. 2 has an interview with George Reavey on Beckett’s early writings, rehearsal notes from working with Beckett on German productions by Walter Asmus, etc. No. 3 includes All Strange Away, Judith Dearlove on "The Voice in the Beckett Canon", reviews of books and productions. No. 4 has the original printing of Neither written in September 1976 for setting to music by Morton Feldman, Cousineau on Watt, Peter Murphy’s "On the Nature and Art of Love in Enough", Knowlson on Pas and Pas Moi at the theatre d’Orsay. No. 5 has the first printing of Heard in the Dark 2, "Murphy’s Metaphysics" by James Acheson, the superb "Symbolic Structure and Creative Obligation in Endgame" by Paul Lawley. Each issue has about a dozen full-page black-and-white photos from known and lesser-known contemporary productions and is about 100 pages in length. As new. N° de réf. du libraire INDE-C7067
