Letterpress title, frontispiece and 31 of the 37 copper plates called for by Lowndes. The plates are foxed, and there is some offsetting from the plates to the text. [Smith 88; Lowndes 139]. Vol VII [iv], 405-612pp; Vol VIII [8], 611-1366pp, [20] List of Books, [36]. Includes an index to each section. Approximately 8 ½ inches tall. Condition Report Externally Spine poor condition repaired with the old spine laid on, most of the title label missing, rubbed and worn. Joints good condition repaired. Corners fair condition bumped and worn. Boards fair condition worn with loss of leather to the edges, structurally sound. Page edges good condition tanned and darkened. See above and photos. Internally Hinges good condition repaired, sound. Paste downs good condition repaired marbled paste down, bookplate for Sir John Lushington Bt. End papers good condition marbled end papers.
