A propos de cet article

Publisher/Imprint: Reykjavík : s.n., 1917. Descripton: 24 pages/s. 26.5 X 14 cm./sm. Both sturdy card covers are chipped, otherwise Very Good, with no loss of text; front cover shows image of a flower and a stylized musical instrument; the author's name is printed diagonally on front cover, from lower left to upper right; covers are bound with beige ribbon. Gen. note: Published on the occasion of the author's visit to Iceland in the summer of 1917 / Gefið út í tilefni af heimsókn höfundar til Íslands sumarið 1917. The booklet contains the poem Hver er al of uppgeffin, ur klettafoll, Ain, Greniskogurinn, etc. There are 24 numbered pages. Verso of front cover shows a gift inscription dated 1918, from Mr. and Mrs. J. Stroumfjord to Mr. and Mrs. E. Johnson. Subject: Poems; Ljóð. Add. Entry: Ágúst H. Bjarnason 1875-1952; Guðmundur Finnbogason 1873-1944. Referenced in Hjartar, p./s. 67. Note: Hjartar includes this title in square brackets, indicating that the implied title, Kvæði, is not in fact printed on the front cover. Note, this item has a cover title only. This commemorative selection of Stephansson's poems is rare indeed - known among collectors of Icelandica as being more hard to find than his most elusive book, namely, Á Ferð og Flugi (Stephansson's most rare publication, not a book as such, is a 32-page offprint from Öldin in 1894 called "Úti á víðavangi", published in Winnipeg by Heimskringla Printing.
