Drawer: Children's foreign language. French hardback. Mme LePrince de Beaumont, a writer, tutored girls in London and began to write treatises on children's education. This Magasin, the second volume of the work, was first published in 1758. Conceived of as a dialogue with her individual pupils, her book preserves the record of a master teacher of 250 years ago. She sought literature which would amuse and educate at the same time. Her book models how to adjust to children's developmental level and educate the heart as well as clarify the mind.
